Through Centers of Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) support, the Ministry of Health in Niger, is able train survey staff on how to perform transmission assessment surveys (TAS) for lymphatic filariasis, also known as elephantiasis. These surveys help public health staff determine, when they can successfully scale-down lymphatic filariasis mass drug administration (MDA) campaigns. In this photograph, captured in Niamey, Niger, two surveyors were shown practicing their pipetting skills, so that they could properly perform lymphatic filariasis diagnostic tests.
