This image depicted a frontal view of a Petri dish culture plate, that contained an undisclosed growth medium, which had been inoculated with the fungal organism, Trichophyton gourvilii Catanei, and gave rise to this colony. The colony exhibited the characteristic purple coloration with hints of brown, and was smooth, radiating folds from its central region. These particular T. gourvilii Catanei organisms, had originated from the North African country of Algeria.
