Caption:
This photograph depicted a frontal view of a Petri dish culture plate, which had contained a Sabouraud dextrose agar growth medium that had been inoculated with the Ceylon isolate of the fungal organism, Curvularia geniculata, and after a 2-week incubation period, had produced this fungal colony. The colony had been derived from a sample harvested from the cornea of a patient who had presented with a case of mycotic keratitis. See PHIL 24663, for a photomicrograph depicting the C. geniculata organism, responsible for this infection.
