This image depicted a full-body, right anterior-oblique (AO) view of an infant, who was lying in a bed, and appeared distressed. The baby’s entire body was covered by a petechial, erythematous rash. Born prematurely, with a chromosomal aberration known as No. 17-18 (E) trisomy syndrome, in addition to the obvious rash, the infant also displayed a number of other anatomical abnormalities, which included coarctation of the aorta, aspiration of amniotic fluid, a doubling of the left kidney’s pelvis and ureter, an ectopic pancreas, and atresia of the right ulna and radius. The infant died 30 days after birth.
