Description:A ruptured aortic aneurysm due to cardiovascular syphilis.
This image shows a large ruptured, fusiform aneurysm involving the ascending portion of the aorta, and there is a laminated clot between the tunicae media and adventitia. Note the pearly white wrinkled tunica intima in areas distal to the aneurysm.
