This 1965 photograph, depicted a view of an adolescent South American male patient’s head, neck and chest, revealing a lesion on the boy’s neck, which was diagnosed as having been the result of a case of blastomycosis, also known as South American blastomycosis, caused by the fungal organism, Paracoccidioides brasiliensis.
