This image depicted two close, intraoral views of a patient, who had presented with a case of histoplasmosis of the oral cavity, caused by the fungal organism, Histoplasma capsulatum. On the left, you can see a histoplasmosis lesion involving the upper right dentition and gums, while on the right, the lower lip had been retracted, revealing an extensive histoplasmosis lesion involving the anterior lower dentition, and gums as well.
