This photograph depicted LCDR Mann, who had surprised his children upon his return from a Hurricane Maria deployment. A part of our mission, as Public Health practitioners, is responding during emergencies. We leave friends and family behind, who shoulder the burden of our absence, and allow us to continue this important work, and who deserve to be recognized. LCDR Mann had deployed 6-times since 2014. Here, he had coordinated with his wife, in order to surprise his children upon returning from his deployment.
