This illustration identifies the comb scales on the eighth terminal segment of a Wyeomyia sp. mosquito larva. These larvae display comb scales, like those seen in Orthopodomyia spp. larvae, but is lacking a median ventral brush. Members of this genus breed in water captured by plant leaves.
