This image, captured on Aug. 14, 2014, at the airport in Freetown-Lungi, Sierra Leone, by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) staff member, Jennifer Brooks, depicts Dr. Katrin Kohl of CDC's Border Health Team meeting with the airport authority, and screening staff, in the entranceway to the passenger departure hall. In the center, is the booth where passengers’ temperatures were taken. To the right, an additional booth was being built for better placement of a camera-style infrared thermal detection system, which would screen everyone entering the airport. The picture was an entry in the 2016 CDC Connects, Public Health in Action Photo Contest, in the categories of People-International and Programs-International.
