Caption:
This image depicted a close view of a cow’s hide, that had been exhibiting signs of a skin condition, in the form of flaking skin, and hair loss. Note these two lesions, which were found to be due to an infection known commonly as ringworm, or tinea. The dermatophytic fungal organism was identified, as Trichophyton faviforme. For another view of two periocular ringworm lesions, see PHIL 22284.
