Caption:
This image depicted a left superior-oblique view of a cow’s head. The animal had been exhibiting signs of a skin condition, in the form of flaking skin, and hair loss. Note the two lesions above and below the animal’s left eye, due to an infection known commonly as ringworm, or tinea. The dermatophytic fungal organism was identified, as Trichophyton faviforme. For a closer view of another lesion, found elsewhere on this cow’s body, see PHIL 22285.
