This pink-eyed white rat, or PEW, displayed two areas of denuded hair on its neck and back, which was determined to be a naturally-occurring ringworm infection, that had been caused by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton mentagrophytes. See PHIL 17928, and 18855 for other views of this animal’s fungal lesions.
