Under a magnification of 1800X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by this dermatophytic fungal organism, which was a species of Arthroderma, labeled strain ARK-17. You are able to see, in the center of the field, a cluster of ascospores known as an ascus.
