Under a magnification of 475X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Trichosporon cutaneum, also known synonymously as Trichosporon beigelii, formerly known as Trichosporon giganteum. In this view, you were able to see the septate hyphae, some of which were undergoing a transformative process, producing ovoid and rectangular arthroconidia. This specimen had been obtained from a monkey.
