This historic image from 1953, depicted three laboratorians, who were in the process of testing spray equipment, possibly to be used in the control of mosquito populations. This scenario took place inside what was the United States Public Health Service (USPHS), Communicable Disease Center (CDC), Field Station, located in Savannah, Georgia. The man standing in the center, reading a scroll of printed data, was Larry Hall, who at the time, was the Chief of the Biophysics Section of this Field Station.
