Using a periodic acid–Schiff (PAS) stain, this photomicrograph of a corneal tissue specimen, revealed the presence of the fungal organism, Fusarium oxysporum, in a case of mycotic keratitis. In this view, you are able to see numerous, filamentous hyphal strands, representing F. oxysporum organisms, that were buried deep in the corneal tissue.
