Caption:
Under a magnification of 875X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphologic details in the tail region of a Brugia malayi microfilarial parasite, in a blood smear. Characteristic of B. malayi, are the two distal nuclei, referred to as the terminal and subterminal nuclei, seemingly connected by a thin thread, as the tail tapered to its end.
