This image depicted a close-up view of the skin surface located on the dorsum of the right foot, of a patient, who had presented with this maculopapular rash, which was determined to be a case of chickenpox, caused by the varicella zoster virus (VZV), also known as Human herpesvirus 3 (HHV-3). In this view, you were able to see that these vesicles were in what is known as the eruptive stage, consisting of fluid-filled blisters.
