This photograph depicted a frontal view of a Petri dish culture plate, which had contained an unidentified growth medium that had been inoculated with the dermatophytic fungal organism, Nannizzia gypsea, formerly known as Microsporum gypseum. Note that this colony displayed its characteristic flat, granular surface texture, and a tawny-buff coloration.
