Caption:
This Petri dish culture plate contained Ajello-Shields growth medium, and had been left on a rooftop of one of the buildings on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Roybal campus, for a period of 30-minutes, then incubated at a temperature of 37°C, for an undisclosed time period. Being that this was a selective growth medium, the culture produced three small colonies of Cryptococcus neoformans fungal organisms, while suppressing the growth of other potential microorganisms (see PHIL 21387).
