Caption:
Under a magnification of 1125X, this photomicrograph revealed numerous Gram-negative, rod-shaped, Shigella sp. bacteria, which had been grown on nutrient agar, to which streptomycin had been added, and incubated for an unknown time period. In this case, this strain of Shigella was streptomycin-dependent.
