The index finger of this person’s right hand displayed an area of focal necrosis following the bite off a Stejneger's pit viper, also known as the bamboo pit viper, Trimeresurus stejnegeri, and reveals the severe necrotic reaction to the snake’s venom on the soft tissues of the victim’s hand. For a closer view of this patient’s snake bite, from a dorsal perspective, see PHIL 20922.
