Created in January 2015, during the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Ebola Response, by CDC Public Health Analyst, Leslie R. McCree, this image depicted a close view of a beautiful little girl, who was posed with her family in PHIL 20984. The mother and her three children had been observed during Leslie’s deployment to the township of West Point, in the capital city of Monrovia, Liberia. Leslie caught the girl’s expression, which she said told the whole story, as to the ravages of the Ebola outbreak. This was one of the entries in the 2015 CDC Connects, Public Health in Action Photo Contest.
