Caption:
This photograph was captured in order to show how a tree hole like this one, could act as a breeding ground for Northern woodland mosquitoes, which were found in this tree hole containing rainwater. Tree holes containing rainwater can house the larvae of Aedes triseriatus (Eastern), and Aedes sierrensis (Western), Orthopodomyia signifera, Orthopodomyia alba, Anopheles barberii and Toxorhynchites spp. mosquitoes.
