Caption:
This image depicts permethrin treated cotton contained in a wire mesh cylinder, which is placed in those environments inhabited by rodents. The rodents then bring back pieces of the permethrin-laced cotton back to their nests, thereby, killing any ticks or fleas harbored on the rodent, or within the nest. This cotton was treated with a solution of 0.5% permethrin. The death of the fleas prevents the possible transmission of bubonic plague, and Colorado tick fever.
