Description:Caption:
Under a very low magnification of 4.5X, this image depicted a close view of a Petri dish culture plate that contained a growth medium of brain heart infusion (BHI) agar, which had been inoculated with Actinomyces viscosus, formerly Odontomyces viscosus, bacteria. After having undergone a 14-day incubation period, the culture gave rise to this darkly rimmed bacterial colony with its fried egg appearance.
