Viewed from the side, this image depicts a low-magnification view of a Petri dish culture plate, focusing on two Bacillus anthracis bacterial colonies. The colony on the left was untouched, while the colony on the right was teased, thereby, illustrating the colonial tenacity, and the fact that a small spire of colonial matter remained standing on its own support without toppling. The tenacious nature of B. anthracis colonies is characteristically found in this bacterial organism.
