This image depicted what is known as a fundoscopic view of the retina, or the back of the right eye. Note that the retinal vessels appeared to be emanating from the right. You will note that one of the arterioles appeared blanched, and seemed to contain within its lumen, atheromatous plaque. These pathologic changes were categorized as Grade II retinal sclerosis.
