Caption:
This 1965 photograph depicted a Buffalo Turbine Sprayer/Duster, which was used to distribute powdered insecticides outdoors, primarily amongst agricultural crops in order to control arthropodal pests. Based on the signage adorning the side of the transport vehicle, it appeared as though this scene was taking place in Kansas City, Missouri. Note the man atop the truck was manually operating the sprayer, as the machine dispersed a cloud of insecticide sideways. The dust sprayed from the nozzle, would indiscriminately settle out unto objects in the vicinity, or on the ground and surrounding plant life.
