This historic 1961 image, depicts a two scientists working in a laboratory setting, while carrying out a plague study in San Francisco, California. These men were working on the isolation, and observation of the plague fleaXenopsylla cheopis, and the plague bacterium, Yersinia pestis, carried, and transmitted by this flea specie.
