Under a magnification of 570X, and viewed using a fluorescent antibody (FA) staining technique, this photomicrograph revealed the presence of Cryptococcus neoformans organisms, as evidenced by these glowing blue-green fungal cells. The encapsulated pair of cells on the left, was undergoing a reproductive budding process, that would divide this pair into two complete organisms.
