Under a magnification of 450X, and viewed using a fluorescent antibody (FA) staining technique, this photomicrograph revealed the presence of a small cluster of Cryptococcus neoformans, strain-B551 organisms, as evidenced by these glowing blue-green fungal cells. This cluster was actually composed of two pairs of budding cells, which were about to complete their reproductive process, becoming four separate organisms.
