Caption:
The face of this Nigerian infant exhibited a malformation known as a hemangioma. In this case, the tumorous outgrowth of abnormal blood vessels was located in the region of the left nasolabial fold, including the nose, and to an unknown extent, the left eye. This was a severe case, and its presence produced a marked distortion of the baby’s facial features, as well as an inability to breathe through the nose, or use the left eye.
