This illustration from 1967, depicted a dorsal view of the Arizona bark scorpion, Centruroides sculpturatus. Known as the most venomous scorpion in North America, inflicting severe, long-lasting pain, accompanied by numbness, immobility, vomiting, convulsions, and temporary loss of breath.
