This 1966 illustration depicted the life cycle of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, revealing the morphologic changes that take place as the organism matures, and passes through its developmental stages. The life cycle shows how the mosquito begins its life as an egg, then proceeds to develop into a larva, followed by a pupa, and finally becoming an adult organism.
