Caption:
Under a magnification of 9X, this photograph depicted a close-up view of a number of mosquito eggs, that had been laid upon an ovitrap paddle. The eggs had been laid by two mosquito species, the Ochlerotatus triseriatus, which is also known as Aedes triseriatus, mosquito, and the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Commonly known as the tree hole mosquito, O. triseriatus has been identified in mosquito pools reported as positive for the West Nile virus (WNV), and is also a known vector for the La Crosse virus. The A. aegypti is a known vector for dengue fever, chikungunya, and yellow fever viruses.
