This image was taken in Uganda, during that nation’s July - August, 2012, Ebola outbreak, and depicts two Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service Officers, Dr. Barbara Knust (Rt), and Dr. Ilana Schafer (Cntr), who’d traveled to Uganda to provide epidemiologic support during this outbreak investigation. Here, the two were discussing the spread of the disease. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it was inside the Kibaale District that the 2012, Ugandan Ebola outbreak began.
