This image depicts a volar view of the right arm of a patent, which had sustained a penetrating wound due to a compound fracture, and though treated, developed what is known as wound botulism. The patient, a 14 year-old boy, had fractured his right ulna and radius. See PHIL 18861, for a view of this patient's dilated pupils, also as a result of the systemic dissemination of the botulinum toxin.
