The skin of this patient exhibited a dermatitis that had been diagnosed as a case of prurigo gestationis, or Besnier's prurigo gestationis. When it occurs, prurigo gestationis usually manifests as a papular dermatitis, between weeks 20–34 of pregnancy, and its cause is unknown, Its symptoms include inflammation and itching, which can be treated with topical steroids, and skin moisturizers.
