This photomicrograph of a Leifson flagella-stained specimen, revealed the presence of a number of flagellated, Group 2, Bacillus sp. bacteria. The use of a special flagellar staining process enabled visualization of this organism’s peritrichous flagellae, which would have been invisible using the Gram-staining method.
