Description:Caption:
This woman was seated in a typical tropical forest in her West Indian homeland. Her left foot had been propped up on a pillow, and it exhibited extreme swelling, due to what was a case of mycetoma, which had been caused by the fungal organism, Pseudallescheria boydii>, which is also known as Petriellidium boydii, and Allescheria boydii. The cane resting against her side, was used as support for her left side while ambulating. See PHIL 15751, for a view of this woman's living conditions.
