Captured somewhere in northern India, during a 1974 trip made by Centers for Disease Control (CDC) personnel to that region, this image depicts a very young calf lying on brown, grassy ground experiencing severe lethargy, due to a genetic disorder affecting bovine species known as anasarca, which involves pulmonary hypoplasia, i.e., poorly-developed lungs, and subcutaneous edema.
