This was a urease test, performed in order to determine the taxonomic identification of Mycobacterium spp. bacteria. Regarding the results, if a pink color develops, as was the case in tubes #3 and 4, activity is present, and the test is designated as positive. If there is no color change, or the color changes to yellow, as in the case of tubes #1 and 2, then urease activity is absent, and the test is designated as negative.
