Under a magnification of 475X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton rubrum, specifically the piriform shaped, single celled microconidia, which can be seen branching perpendicularly from the filamentous hyphae, as singular spores, that act as the organism’s asexual reproductive structures.
