Containing a growth medium of Sabouraud dextrose agar, this Petri dish culture plate had been inoculated with the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton violaceum, which had given rise to a colony that was wrinkled at its center, surrounded by a more or less glabrous morphology. Its frontal surface was comprised of a small area of a central off-white region, which was surrounded by a fuzzy ring of mottled brown and beige.
