Here we see U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Communication Director, Dr. Katherine Lyon-Daniel, (left foreground) learning about plans to reopen Island Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia, from the World Health Organization's (WHO), Dr. Attai Omoruto. The Ugandan physician is leading the drive to reopen the formerly-private hospital, as a 120-bed Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU). Also present are CDC health promotion experts, Mary Bryant-Mason and Dr. Konrad Hayashi. This image was captured during the 2014, Ebola outbreak that not only affected the nation of Liberia, but Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Nigeria as well.
