This image was created in 2014, during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, affecting the nations of northern Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Nigeria. This particular view depicts a scene outside the Tubmanburg General Hospital, in Bomi County, Liberia, and shows two defunct ambulances standing idle, each missing a front passenger side tire. With no functional ambulances, the county health officers are unable to transfer patients to the Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU) in Monrovia, the country’s capital city.
