This image highlights what had been the results of a urease test, performed in order to determine the taxonomic identification of Mycobacterium spp. bacteria. If a pink color develops, as was the case in tube #1, activity is present, and the test is positive. If there is no color change, or the color changes to yellow, as in the case of tubes #2, 3, and 4, then urease activity is absent, and the test is negative.
