This image from 1974, depicted a scene said to be somewhere in Northern India, and was captured during a trip made by a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) staff member, in order to capture native monkeys that would be added to the Center’s breeding colony in Atlanta, Georgia. In this particular scene, you can see a winding, rocky riverbed containing a small amount of flowing water. This river water was a source of drinking water, not only for the local fauna, which included the primate inhabitants, but the human inhabitants as well, including the members of this CDC expedition.
